White Peaks

A cold, rugid mountain range that splits down the center of Hlorn’s Praise, creating a natural barrier between Dynnt and Belrd. There is no single culture, govenment, or identity throughout the White Peaks, nor clear borders. Rather, it is a patchwork of a variety of peoples ranging from great dwarven cities deep in the mountains, orc and goblin infestations lurkinig in the shallow depths, or even a hidden brewing monastery renown for their high-quality ales.

The societies that dominate the White Peaks are the many dwarven clans found deep below the surface (such as Clan Gildkin of Stone Hollow), and the many more goblin and orc tribes. The various dwarven clans are at almost constant war with the goblin and orc tribes above them, and the deurgar deeper below. The clans have deep relationships with each other but tend to keep to themselves from the outside world.

Filled with too much pride, and untrusting of outsiders, the dwarf clans rarely engage in diplomacy or ask for military help outside of other clans in the White Peaks; even when they are under dire threat. Dwarven clans occasionally engage in trade with peoples outside of the White Peaks, though it is almost always kept purely transactional with no diplomatic strings attached. In return, nobody has offered them help or asked for help since the dwarfs keep the orcs and goblins busy for the most part, causing little need for then to venture too far out of the mountains.
