The Order of True Vengeance

This order is dedicated to Enysia as their main deity, and takes a great amount of pride being able to trace their founding and teachings back to The Great Awakening.

They mostly spend their time protecting the weak and recruiting new practitioners to their order. They have a clergy of men and women who lead their followers. They lead them in prayer and guidance in the world. Their message is to restore as much order to Veldus as possible. The more order and less chaos there is, the weaker Korick is and the stronger Hlorn and Enysia will be.

They maintain a military sect of their order, The Knights of Enysia, that can trace their origins back to the heroes who slayed the phoenix and manticore during the Great Awakening. These holy paladins do battle with followers of Korick and do everything they can to extinguish chaos in Veldus. They see themselves as an extension of Enysia and having her blessing whenever they take action.

You often hear followers of The Order say “By our Mother’s vengeance…” in conversation. For instance, if a murderer is sentenced to execution you will always hear the executioner say “By our Mother’s vengeance,” before removing the murderer’s head. Or, if a politician takes office you will often hear them claim they are doing so “…for our Mother’s vengeance.”

The Cult of Korick

The Cult of Korick are followers of Korick who promote chaos within Veldus. They sympathize with Korick while viewing Hlorn and his family as villains.

The Cult encourages their followers to perform evil acts ranging from petty crimes to blackmail and coercion. They rarely resort to murder unless it is for survival of the individual or the The Cult as a whole. Whenever a riot or coup is sprung somewhere, it is very likely The Cult was moving the various pieces (from the shadows) via deception and blackmail. It has been discovered on several occasions that prominent political figures were actually members of The Cult.

It is rumored that Goodfrey Dynnt, founder of Dynntium, was the original founder and member of The Cult.

Dueling Daggers

Of them all, the Dueling Daggers are the most mysterious group in Veldus. They appear to be purely opportunistic by playing The Order and The Cult off each other to gain what they want. But often, it is not understood what they want. Or who they are. Or how to communicate with them.

They don’t even refer to themselves as the Dueling Daggers. Rather, it is a named bestowed upon them because of the symbol they use. It is an image of two daggers pointing upwards and twisting around each other like two snakes twisted together.
